Health Equity Series Sessions

The HIC sponsors a racial equity workshop series that explores the ways that racism impacts people's experiences with critical parts of life including housing, education, food access, and access to health care (these are sometimes called social determinants of health). Through data, storytelling and panel discussions, experts from our region and beyond describe how historical and current policies and systems reinforce racism and impact the lived experiences of individuals and families in southeastern CT. Presenters also share strategies to combat racism for a more equitable future. These rich conversations ground us in the intersecting work of social justice and health equity, while leading us to be even stronger partners in our New London community.
